Terms of Admission

To apply for admission to Khorramshahr University of Marine Science and Technology, all non-Iranian applicants are required to adhere to the following terms issued by the Student Affairs Organization of the I. R. of Iran’s Ministry of Science, Research and Technology:

A) General conditions

1. Applicants are required to hold a valid passport issued by their respective country.

2. Applicants are required to obtain the approval of the Student Affairs Organization of the Ministry of Science, Research and Technology. To do so, they must do as follows:

  1. Visit www.saorg.ir and click International Student Affairs.
  2. Complete the related application forms and get an identification code.

3. Applicants must have a health certificate issued by the Health Ministry of their respective country and approved by the legal health centers of the Islamic Republic of Iran confirming their physical and mental well-being.

4. Applicants are required to sign a commitment form concerning the laws and regulations pertaining to the university they have applied for in accordance with the conditions set by the Students Affairs Organization by-law of non-Iranian student admission.

B) Specific Conditions

  1. Applicants are required to hold a valid diploma (or equivalent), bachelor’s or master’s degree certificate for admission to relevant undergraduate and postgraduate programs. The certificate should be accredited by the official authorities (foreign affairs authorities) of the applicant’s native country and translated into English (if issued in other languages) and approved by the Embassy or Consulate General of the Islamic Republic of Iran in the respective country.
  2. For admission, candidates will require conformation from the respective departments they have applied to.
  3. As a requirement for graduation, students will have to have attended a Persian language course for a collective duration of 6 months as preparation for an examination to evaluate their proficiency in Farsi (SAMFA).

Note: According to ministry bylaws, after graduation all non-Iranian students are required to submit the Persian Language Graduation Certificate to the Students Affairs Organization. Applicants who have already acquired the command needed speak the Persian language are exempted from the program (6 months course) but are required to participate in the final examination (SAMFA) to receive the certificate.

  1. PhD applicants must submit their diplomas (bachelor’s and master’s) and CV  to the respective department.

Note: after submitting the required documents, PhD program applicants are obligated to take part in an academic interview.
